Launching Pad Series Nearing Sell Out

JUST 10 tickets remain available for the Group 2 Launching Pad series which gets underway at Sandown Park in a month's time.

With a whopping $420,000 in prizemoney up for grabs during the three week series, a strong contingent of Australia's leading owners and trainers have purchased tickets into the prized sweepstakes event.

Sandown Greyhound Racing Club (SGRC) media manager Mick Floyd said the club is delighted with the response to the series after missing last year's event due to coronavirus.

"The race has been hugely successful since its inception and this year promises to be no different," Floyd offered.

"I can't remember a time when there were so many quality up and coming sprinters progressing through the ranks, especially here in Victoria.

"It all makes for a big few weeks of racing – we can't wait."

Open to greyhounds with 1-6 wins and no more than 30 race starts, heats of the Launching Pad are scheduled for Thursday, March 18 before semi-finals on March 25 and the $150,000-to-the-winner final on April 1.

"We have 10 of the 64 spots still available," Floyd offered.

"They are $2000 each and like other years are transferable before nomination closing times."

How much is the series worth?

The 2020 Group 3 Launching Pad series will carry $420,000 in prize money!

Launching Pad

Final – $210,000 (1st: $150,000, 2nd: $40,000, 3rd: $20,000)

Semi Finals – $14,500 (1st: $10,000, 2nd: $3000, 3rd: $1500)

Heats – $10,000 (1st: $7000, 2nd: $2000, 3rd: $1000)

Launching Pad Consolation

For greyhounds that finish 3rd and 4th in their semi-final

Final – $21,000 (1st: $15,000, $4000, $2000)

Launching Pad Consolation Series

Maximum of three heats will be run, as determined by the greyhound's finishing position in the heats.

Final – $21,000 (1st: $15,000, $4000, $2000)

Heats – $10,000 (1st: $7000, $2000, $1000)

Over half of all greyhounds entered in the series will earn prize money!

Midday Monday 15 March 2021 – Purchase and transfer of entry forms close
