TOWNSVILLE breeder Mick Waters says the litter contains “a dead ringer” of TAB Million Dollar Chase champion Handsome Prince.
Mick has for sale a June 6 whelped litter by Sh Avatar and See Blue’s Girl, three dogs and one bitch.
It is a repeat mating to that which produced Handsome Prince (11 wins, $1.036 million), Ava Wine (11 wins, $52,000), Savage Victor (12 wins, $27,000) and Supreme Shadow (10 wins, $22,000).
“It’s happened all over again,” said Mick of the repeat mating.
“Handsome Prince was the alpha dog in that first litter, and already this pup, the dead ringer of him, is showing those signs,” Waters said.
“It is like the first litter is reborn.”
Waters has been breeding from the same damline for two decades and it traces back to multiple Group 1 performer Wine Glass, the fourth dam of the pups.
Their dam See Blue’s Girl was an outstanding race dog with 12 wins and she was a finalist in a Group 1 Hobart 1000.
Her litter brother Top Prosecutor won the Group 1 Spion Rose in New Zealand.
Mick and his trainer, Tasmania-based Pat Ryan, have kept Currajong Kid from the first litter produced by See Blue’s Girl by Fabregas.
“Pat says he is the best dog he has ever put a lead on but he broke down after only three race starts all of which he won,” Waters said.
“We have collected semen from him and have been making offers up to $30,000 for potential broodbitches to mate to him.”
While Mick has just started to advertise the pups which are full relations to Million Dollar Chase champ Handsome Prince, he also has a litter by Aston Dee Bee and Splotched on the ground.
“The mother is a litter sister to Handsome Prince,” he said.
“Three days after her mother came on season, Splotched did as well.
“She has three dogs and one bitch, exactly the same litter as her mother.
“Splotched was going to be very good but hurt herself. She did win four races and ran some time.”
