Hardman Tips Analysing As Best Cup Chance

MICK Hardman is chasing consecutive Bathurst Gold Cup victories and believe he can win the $40,000-to-the-winner final, but with a 20-1 outsider.

PARKESBOURNE trainer Mick Hardman is chasing consecutive Bathurst Gold Cup victories and believe he can win the $40,000-to-the-winner final, but with a 20-1 outsider.

Mick won the race in 2021 with Zulu Warlord and this year has litter sisters Chase The Honey and Analysing (Fernando Bale-Nangar Miss) in the final.

Chase Me Honey is one of the favourites after winning her heat in 29.70.

But it is Analysing he believes is “way over the odds”.

FIELDS AND FORM BATHURST FRIDAY NIGHT

“She is boxed well, her heat run was terrific, she has pulled up well and I am confident she will go close,” he said.

“She is in great form. Her 29.20 to win the Gosford Gold Cup Consolation was great, then she came from behind in 29.90 when second at Wenty two starts back was good.

“I've told the boys she is a great chance.”

Of Chase Me Honey Mick says she is not boxed to win despite having run third to Jungle Deuce two runs back off the eight box in the Group 1 Paws Of Thunder final.

“The run to the first turn at Bathurst is a 4.30 run and she will struggle to get across,” said Mick.

He believes Ties That Bind off the rails is hard to beat but tips huge improvement from Where's Rocky.

“I know he had only a post to post before he started in the heats so he will improve,” said Mick.
