Jodi Braver Than Her Siblings Think

LEADING trainer Peter Lagogiane has had plenty of success with Pay Call and her progeny but it's not the fastest of her stock that holds a special place in his heart.
Pay Call was at one point one of the fastest females to zip around Wentworth Park and her biggest on track success came when winning the 2021 Ladies Bracelet.
But her influence on the sport has continued as a matron, her first two litters already returning 64 winner and her second litter have just turned two.
Lagogiane trains all five pups out of the second litter, by his former star sprinter Beast Unleashed, and Unleash Jodi isn't the fastest pup in the litter, but she could well be the bravest.
WENTWORTH PARK FIELDS AND FORM FOR FRIDAY NIGHT
"As is often the case when a group of pups are reared together, one gets picked on and Jodi was that one in the litter," Lagogiane said.
"We thought that she may not even make it to the track because she's always been quite timid but where there's a will there's a way and she has been a real surprise packet."
On Friday night, Wentworth Park will hold an Anzac Day meeting and Unleash Jodi as well as her exciting sister, Unleash Georgia, will contest heats of the 1-4 Wins Stake (520m) for female greyhounds.
Unleash Jodi has drawn Box 2 in the first heat and will be chasing her fourth win at start nine.
"The start is the key to her chances," Lagogiane said.
"I've got no doubt when she gets everything right she is capable of running 29.6 at Wenty.
"She's broken 29.30 at Gosford so she's got a motor but confidence is key with her so she will just keep improving as she gets more experienced."
Unleash Georgia on the other hand is the most naturally gifted dog in the litter and she has already run sub 29.70 on two occasions at Wentworth Park.
She's drawn box 5 in the second heat.
"Her box speed is her greatest asset so she can overcome any box," Lagogiane said.
"She's still got a long way to go but she's an exciting pup and provided she continues to improve she's got a bright future and will be hard to beat on Friday."
