Staged annually to remember revered veterinarian the late Phil Davis – who served the Richmond Club with distinction for the best part of four decades – Friday night's final brought together an outstanding field of gallopers, with the eventual favourite Ron Seymour's Walkie Talkie at 3/1.

With the Darren Sultana-trained Secret Of Ours setting a hot pace out in front, it was My Bro Fabio chaser Zipping Kelly who sprouted wings late down the outside to score decisively in the finish by three lengths over Nangar Ace in a best of meeting 30.75.

Taking her record to six wins from 17 starts, Zipping Kelly has been earmarked as a stayer with huge promise from early on in her career, purchased by the Lagogianes and owner Dawn Garrett as a prospective half-miler from early on.

And with those distance prospects still well and truly on track, the February 2016 whelp is giving every indication that she can still mix it in the sprinting ranks also, as evidenced with Friday night's thrilling Memorial victory.

Back in March, Zipping Kelly took out a consolation heat of the Launching Pad at Sandown Park when coming with her trademark finish to record a stylish 29.80 success.

A week later she finishing fourth in the Consolation Final, the same night her kennelmate Beast Unleashed took out the $150,000 to-the-winner Group 2 Launching Pad Final.

Zipping Kelly returns to Richmond this Saturday night to tackle a terrific city program replacing Wentworth Park, with the daughter of My Bro Fabio stepping out in a red hot opener to the evening over the 618 metres, lining up against Lochinvar Hugo and Ritza Millie.
