Lymbery Pins His Faith In Pindari Express

HE'S just turned 50 so Jason Lymbery is at the right age to accept a bit of advice and he has Nowra trainer Garry Edwards to thank for it.

HE'S just turned 50 so Jason Lymbery is at the right age to accept a bit of advice.

Jason had planned to sell a bitch called Fiery Crash, a daughter of greyhounds of the year Fernando Bale and Jason's own Double Twist.

He decided he had enough brood-bitches to continue the famous damline of which Double Twist has always been a standout.

But, up stepped his long-time trainer Garry Edwards.

“Garry is a patient, patient man and he had to be when training Fiery Crash for me,” said Jason.

“The bitch had great ability but niggling injuries would always come against her, and every six months she would come on season.

“But, she made a Group 3 Dapto Maiden Classic and was a smart Wentworth Park winner. When Garry heard I was thinking of selling her, he simply would not let me. He soon talked me out of it.”

Fiery Crash won seven and was placed eight times. Her litter included Hear The Drums (22 wins, $35,000), Twisted Love (19 wins, $37,000) and Big Bender (9 wins, $27,000). All six in the litter were winners.

Why wouldn't they!

Their dam Double Twist was joint NSW GOTY winning 26 races and $142,000. Her first litter, to Collision, produced superstar Mister Twister (19 wins, $321,000) as a multiple Group winner.

Jason, who has been racing greyhounds for the past two decades, was always going to be involved in the industry. His dad Bill was long-time president of the Shoalhaven Club.

Jason listened to Garry Edwards and put Fiery Crash to Collision for her first litter, recreating the mating that produced Collision.

But, now he is aiming the bitch at her next mating, this time to recently retired Pindari Express.

“There is so much about the mating that I like, so many proven crosses, that I will also put Fiery Crash's litter sister Twisted Love to him down the track,” said Jason.

He plans to have some of the Pindari Express-Fiery Crash pups for sale at three months.

Twisted Love has just come on season and will be mated to Turanza Bale.

“It's a straw I have had for ages and it cost me a lot of money at the time,” said Jason.

“But, once Twisted Love has had this litter, she too will go to Pindari Express.”

Jason's pride and joy, Double Twist, has retired from the breeding game.

“She's still alive, still looks great, and still sleeps inside every night,” said Jason.
