Marshall's Gardens Night Out

A trainer would often simply settle for just one winner at a race meet, let alone two winners and a second.

A trainer would often simply settle for just one winner at a race meet, let alone two winners and a second.

This is exactly what Cranebrook trainer Ashley Marshall got as she made the two hour trip to The Gardens last Saturday evening.

Although her tricolour reserve in the second race was unable to find a placing, it was quickly atoned by landing a quinella in the third.

Amy's Will and Black Dakota, boxed side-by-side in the black and the pink respectively, both jumped smartly to lead the pack.

Amy's Will trumped her kennelmate, leading all the way to score in 23.01 over the 400m.

The lightly-raced daughter of Don't Knocka Him has never been far from the money, with seven wins and six placings from just 19 starts.

He has now won two races from two starts at the Hunter Valley track.

The wait from the third race to the twelfth certainly paid off, after first reserve All Paws displayed excellent field manners to weave himself through the pack.

The 30kg dog beat them to the finish line by two-and-a-quarter lengths, overcoming his four month win drought.
