KOBLENZ AT STUD

Blazing Gold haD been fifth in his maiden debut the week before but had shown plenty of potential which warranted his short price on Friday night.

“I can tell you Dave is pretty pleased that Koblenz has had his first winner,” said Jessica's husband Jason of Blazing Gold's win.

The Sharps will step up Blazing Gold to 460m with the view to getting him to 500m soon.

“He has got to show a bit more early pace,” said Jason of Blazing Gold.

“But he certainly shows good potential.”

Koblenz won the G1 Melbourne Cup, G2 Cranbourne Cup, the Pink Diamond Rookie Sprinter, and was third in an edition of The Phoenix.

Blazing Gold's dam Maddison Kaye won 15 races in South Australia.
