Million Dollar Chase Champ Victoria Bound

MILLION Dollar Chase champion Good Odds Harada has been transferred to Victorian trainer Anthony Azzopardi to chase the upcoming riches down south.

MILLION Dollar Chase champion Good Odds Harada has been transferred to leading Victorian trainer Anthony Azzopardi.

The son of Collision, winner of 26 races and $1.28 million in prize money, heads to Melbourne having enjoyed a spectacular return to racing in recent times under the care of Jason Magri.

Returning to the track with a slashing 22.20 Bulli victory earlier this month, the brindle flyer backed that up with a record equaling Goulburn performance before finishing second in fast time at Bulli last time out.

In just three starts the Million Dollar Chase champ confirmed he'd returned to the track in outstanding fashion.

The difficult decision by Frank Hurst to transfer his star conveyance south comes at a time when the exodus of top class New South Wales chasers continues to soar.

With NSW languishing with no city prize money and feature race opportunities due to the coronavirus pandemic, the situation confronting owners was only exacerbated last week with Greyhound Racing Victoria rolling out an attractive list of major events in the coming months.

Add to that the significant city prize money on offer at Sandown and The Meadows each week and the decision for many owners with top NSW chasers is essentially being taken out of their hands.

“It's hard losing the dog but what can I do?” said a despondent Jason Magri.

“I understand the situation Frank is in so I called him this morning and said whatever decision he makes he has my blessing with. I wish the dog all the best down there.”
