New Sensation Bound Honk Honk Hits Record Books
TRAINER Tony Mason has declared its full boar ahead towards Saturday's heats of the New Sensation following Honk Honk’s victory at the weekend.

TRAINER Tony Mason has declared its full boar ahead towards Saturday night's heats of the New Sensation following Honk Honk's stunning Wentworth Park victory at the weekend.
In a truly remarkable display, Honk Honk, a daughter of Bernardo and Larrakeyah Lady, stopped the clock in a sizzling 29.19, extending her career record to seven wins from 13 starts.
The mindboggling time, carved out with sections of 5.43 and 17.69, was the fastest time recorded by a female at the famed Glebe circuit, a fraction faster than the 29.20 Mackenna posted during last year's Golden Easter Egg.
"When I saw the clock I was in shock, probably like everyone else," Mason said.

"Yes the track was quick but when I saw a bitch the quality of Taormina struggling to hold onto her down the back I knew she was running time.

"That was the best she's come out from out wide which we'd been waiting for her to do. She's only just turned two so it's still all ahead of her.
"And the best thing about the run is that she's pulled up unbelievable. That good that I called her up to stretch her legs on Monday morning."
Honk Honk returns to headquarters on Saturday night for the heats of the Group 3 New Sensation where the first three across the line in the final will receive automatic entry into the heats of the Group 1 Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg.
And on the strength of Saturday night's barnstorming performance, Mason is more than happy to test his rising superstar against the best.
"The New Sensation has been the aim with her for a while now," Mason said.
"Being an age race and the way she's progressing it's ideal.

"For now we are just focusing on the next two weeks and then we'll reassess things after that.
"But with her makeup I'm not worried about stepping her up in class. Even before break in she's showed me signs of being a real competitor.
"Even when we take two dogs for a walk she's got to be in front. And she'll pull your arm out if she's not. She just loves the competition, it's scary actually."
Honk Honk wasn't alone in posting slashing time at Wentworth Park on Saturday night with former Queenslander Kisses For Gran posting 29.22 for trainer Jason Mackay.
But a clash between the two isn't on the cards, at least in the short term, with Kisses For Gran ineligible for the New Sensation.
