Orchestrate Crowned Queensland GOTY

Brisbane Cup winner Orchestrate has been named the 2022 Queensland Greyhound of the Year at a gala function in Brisbane on Friday night.

Brisbane Cup winner Orchestrate has been named the 2022 Queensland Greyhound of the Year.

Under the guidance of champion Queensland trainer Tony Brett, Orchestrate won 10 from 20 starts last year, including a breathtaking victory in the Group 1 Brisbane Cup.

There were also seven placings in a stellar season for dog and trainer.

Racing Minister Grace Grace said Orchestrate's thrilling victory in the Brisbane Cup was a crowning highlight of the 2022 season.

"It's fantastic to see the code going from strength to strength in Queensland, and the best is yet to come," she said.

"We have already seen a $9 million increase in prize money in 2023, and I recently turned the sod on the future Greater Brisbane Greyhound Centre which is expected to be completed in 2024."

Racing Queensland recognised more than 20 award winners on Friday night.
