Origin Skipper Says Blues Will Take Some Beating

RUGBY league legend, Terry Hill, is happy about one thing leading into the State of Origin greyhound racing series at Albion Park on Thursday.

RUGBY league legend, Terry Hill, is happy about one thing leading into the glamour State of Origin greyhound racing series at Albion Park on Thursday night.

“I'm just glad those NSW trainers don't have to drive down Caxton Street on the way to the track like we did heading to Lang Park,” said Hill the greyhound racing head of the State of Origin Blues.

Caxton Street, the home of a number of pubs and restaurants, was a nightmare for the bus carrying NSW State Of Origin teams on their way to Lang Park.

“We are tough, season hardened footballers, but the drive through Caxton Street was always a nightmare,” said Terry.

Hill, a devoted greyhound man, relishes his job as head of the Blues greyhound racing Origin team.

“It's my fourth year and I love it,” he said. “I came up for the box draw, some TV and radio interviews and of course Thursday night's racing.

“And isn't it great racing.”

Hill is a form follower and has had great success with his own dogs greats like Placard, Fast Times and the like all Group stars.

“Gee, Good Odds Cash is boxed perfectly in the sprint,” said Hill.

“But, how can you take anything away from Orchestrate after his win in the (Brisbane) Cup last week and the fact he ran a first section record doing it.”

Hill handed out a tip for Queensland bitch Days Of Thunder in the Origin Distance.

“How good is she,” he said. “They won't want to have her sitting on their tails down the back straight.”

Orchestrate's owner Tom Kinnear, buoyed by the Group 1 success last week, is more cautious about his State Of Origin chances.

“Not as well boxed for this race as he was off the eight last week,” said Tom.

“And there is a lot of pace drawn around him.

“Good Odds Cash has me really worried off the rails.

“But our bloke is coming into the race off a Group 1 win and his confidence must be sky high.”

Kinnear said Orchestrate's future would concentrate on the Nationals and of course the Million Dollar Chase both at Wentworth Park later in the year.
