Panorama In Hot Pursuit Of Rich SA Cups Bonus

MURRAY Bridge Cup winner Panorama will chase a bonus in the upcoming Mount Gambier Cup series and then will be retired to stud.

MURRAY Bridge Cup winner Panorama will chase a bonus in the upcoming Mount Gambier Cup series and then will be retired to breeding duties.

Trainer Ben Rawlings said this today after the daughter of Fernando Bale-Panamera led throughout to win the Group 3 Murray Bridge Cup (455m) on Sunday.

She held on to down Matt Lanagan's Tom Keeping by three-quarters of a length with Fantastic Dixie in third.

It was here 21st win in 56 starts and took her career earnings to $92,000.

“I was hoping she could cross and lead,” said Ben who also had last year's Cup runner-up Mr Ticket in the final.

“Then when Matt's dog loomed up on the home turn I kept hoping she would move out and take a bit of his momentum.

“She must have heard me because that's what she did.”

Rawlings said a bonus for winning the Cup at Murray Bridge and Mount Gambier would be a final lure for Panorama.

“Then she will retire to stud and go back to Andy and Jodie Lord to be bred with,” said Ben.

“Panorama is owned by Andy's daughter Grace.

“She is a magnificent 29 kilo bitch so should make a nice broodbitch prospect.”

Mount Gambier is 512m and Panorama has not raced at the track.

“But it is a follow on lure and if she can make it through to the final, she should be suited,” said Ben.

Panorama started her career in Queensland where she was a winner at Ipswich and Albion Park, then won at Wentworth Park for the Lord kennel before being sent to South Australia where she has been a multiple Gawler and Angle Park winner and now Group winner.
