Patterson Looking Forward To Golden Ticket Test

ILUKA star Respectability is the early $4.50 favourite for the upcoming Gold Bullion but is $3 favourite to win Thursday's Golden Ticket.

ILUKA star Respectability is the early $4.50 favourite for the upcoming Group 1 Gold Bullion but is a $3 favourite to win Thursday night's Group 3 Golden Ticket match race series at Albion Park.

Respectability is clear cut favourite for the Golden Bullion ahead of Victorian star Amron Boy and superstar bitch She's A Pearl which share the second line at $7 with price framers.

Amron Boy and She's A Pearl will clash at Wentworth Park on Saturday night in the final of the Group 1 Paws Of Thunder.

The heats of the Gold Bullion are five days later. Amron Boy definitely won't take his place in the series.

Owner-trainer Mick Patterson was surprised his classy galloper was so short in the Gold Bullion markets.

But, he is also confident Respectability can win his way straight into the Gold Bullion by clinching the Ticket on Thursday night.

“I believe Springtime Jet holds the key to the Golden Ticket winner,” said Mick.

“I'm certain he will lead my bloke early and because he will be out in front, Springtime Jet can set the race up for the winner … whoever that is, he or my bloke.

“I will really get to see how good my bloke is on Thursday night.

“He will have to come from behind a dog who is coming off running 29.68 a week ago.”

Patterson reported Respectability is “jumping out of his skin”.

“I've kept him fresh this week and that has resulted in him ripping up beds and just generally wanting to go, go, go,” he said.

The son of Raw Ability-Fay's Magic goes into the two-dog match race as the hot favourite to win the series.

Latest markets are: $3 Respectability, $3.90 Springtime Jet, $4.40 Throttle, $5.50 Jay Is Jay, $6 Shipwreck, $10 De Ferran, $26 Yahiro Bale, Hold Me Up.

The match race prices are:

Match 1: $1.10 Throttle, $7 Yahiro Bale

Match 2: $1.18 Jay Is Jay, $4.80 Hold Me Up

Match 3: $1.45 Shipwreck, $2.75 De Ferran

Match 4: $1.75 Respectability, $2.05 Springtime Jet

Patterson believes the “dark horse” of the final is Jay Is Jay, the recent G2 Qld Derby winner for Mick and Selena Zammit.

“There is no doubt in my mind he will get a very clear run throughout,” said Patterson of Jay Is Jay.

“And you have to remember, he has won at Albion Park in 29.59 already.

“That's good enough to win this.”
