Phoenix Approach Made To Black Top Winner
WESTERN Australian training giant David Hobby has been approached about a spot in rich The Phoenix for star sprinter Sunset Frazier.
WA training giant David Hobby has been approached about a spot in The Sportsbet Phoenix for star sprinter Sunset Frazier.
The approach came after Sunset Frazier (Sunset Spitfire-Sunset Octavia) had led throughout to win Friday night's Group 2 Black Top (515m) at The Gardens.
The Phoenix (525m) will be run at The Meadows on December 21.
But Hobby is not prepared to commit to a runner for the slot saying it is far too far away from the race for such a commitment.
Sunset Frazier brought his record to 28 starts for 12 wins and 13 placings with earnings of $273,000 when he won the Black Top in 29.31.
He downed Boston Banner and You Never Lose.
It was his sixth Group race final appearance.
And it further highlights the success of his sire Sunset Spitfire.
David Hobby, and his son Clint who own the sire, have raised his service fee to $2500 after an impressive start to his stud career.
