Wenty Preview: Just How Good Is Ritza Piper?

GIFTED young stayer Ritza Piper will continue her rapid ascension when she steps out as a raging favourite at Wentworth Park Wednesday night.

GIFTED young stayer Ritza Piper will continue her rapid ascension through the ranks when she steps out as a raging hot favourite at Wentworth Park on Wednesday night.

Last week the regally bred daughter of Sh Avatar and Ritza Vonnie created a huge impression at her city 720 metre debut, scoring by a remarkable 25 ¼ lengths in a flying 41.89.

FIELDS AND FORM WENTWORTH PARK WEDNESDAY NIGHT

Such was the dominance of the performance, Ritza Piper became one of just four greyhounds to break the 42 second barrier at their first Wentworth Park 720 metre appearance.

The resounding win followed her 603 metre maiden victory at Gosford when, as a heavily supported favourite, won by an ever-extending 11 ½ lengths, bringing her winning aggregate margin at her last two starts to 36 ¾ lengths.

Following two well beaten appearances to launch her career, trainer Joe Scerri made the move to quickly step Ritza Piper up in distance, a decision which is paying immediate dividends for the Berkeley conditioner.

With just nine races and reduced fields, Wednesday night's meeting is expected to dish up a number of short priced favourites.

Race three will see the Wentworth Park debut of the Dylan Goodger-trained Such A Shame which heads into the event as the winner at five of seven career starts.

Drawn the rails, the daughter of Aston Dee Bee is expected to lead the field a merry dance, with the question how she sees out the 520 metres at the first time of asking.

The best bet of the night looms in race seven where Rebel Ethics takes his place following a luckless run in Saturday night's Young Star Final (520m) won by the unbeaten Zipping Orlando.

Best Bet: Race 7 Number 4 Rebel Ethics

Next Best: Race 6 Number 4 Father Rick

Best Value: Race 9 Number 5 You Know Why

Quaddie: 1,2 – 4,7 – 2,4,5 – 1,4,8
