Price Is Right For Gerrard In Gold Collar Decider

FRAZIER Price will be attempting to provide trainer Stephen Gerrard a maiden feature race success in the Gold Collar Final on Monday night.

FRAZIER Price will be attempting to hand Deloraine trainer Stephen Gerrard a maiden feature race success in the $11,115 Simons Carpet One Gold Collar Final (515m) in Launceston on Monday night.

The Launceston Greyhound Racing Club proudly conducts this Tasbred race, now in its 85th year.

Having banked two wins from three starts on the Launceston track, the daughter of Aston Dee Bee and She's A Fernando has produced a handful of terrific performances making her step to feature race competition.

FIELDS AND FORM LAUNCESTON ON MONDAY NIGHT

“Frazier Price has certainly impressed me with all her five starts so far,” the proud owner/trainer said.

“The start behind Ducati Roy where she finished second, I think was her best run outside those two wins, because she took advantage of the rail and drove through – she is still young and continues to improve.”

She comes into this $7,280-to-the-winner decider off the back of a 29.89secs victory last Monday night.

Longford trainer David Crosswell is the breeder of Frazier Price, also putting the polish to four litter mates contesting the 2023 Gold Collar, a race that David has won twice with Midnite Castle and He's All Class.

Trainer Ted Medhurst prepares Breeders Classic winner Volume Up as the race favourite coming off box one.

“For age and inexperience Frazier Price has handled most box draws, I don't think the wide draw (box 8) isn't too much of a worry, relying on Whiskey Turbo (7) and Vintage Class (6) bringing her into it,” Stephen said.

“It's a great thrill to be having runners in races like the Gold Collar; we do need to have luck go our way.”

The 2023 Launceston Gold Collar Final (515m) is race 7 on Monday night due to jump at 9:23pm approx.
