GREG Remfry is revelling in Richmond Oaks glory after Shanghai Suzie raced to victory in the group 2 showpiece at the western Sydney circuit on Friday night.

Bred, owned and trained by Dapto-based Remfry, Shanghai Suzie is a daughter of the great Ferrnando Bale and well related brood matron Mumza Pearl.

In fact, Mumza Pearl calls the lounge at the Remfry household home and it's now only a matter of time until Shanghai Suzie follows in her mothers footsteps.

Going into the $50,000-to-the-winner Richmond Oaks off a hugely impressive 29.60 heat victory, Shanghai Suzie was sent out a $2.60 favourite for the decider, and didn't let backers down with another superb all-the-way success.

The victory extended her career record to 10 wins and 11 placings from 29 starts and spiralled her stake earnings past $100,000 with the breakthrough black type success after finishing runner-up in last year's Group 3 Nowra Puppy Classic.

"My wife says if she had wings she'd be a proper angel, we just absolutely adore her at home," an emotional Remfry said.

"I usually give my dogs to Ruth King but this girl took a while to get going early on so we kept her at home and just fell in love with her.

"Ruth has taught me so much along the way and I really want to thank her. It's been a nervous week, I've hardly slept and even now we've won I'm not sure I will.

"I've had lots of dogs over the years but mainly owned them.

"I'm just so proud of this girl from where she started to where she is now. She's going as good as she's ever gone. I'm really looking forward to breeding with her. When that is, I'm not exactly sure but she's going to be a great brood."

Runner-up in the Richmond Oaks finale was Akii Princess 2 ¼ lengths away from the winner while Paws Of Thunder placegetter My Hepburn was in third.
