Sultana: Rinsed The Lot ‘A Champion'

WHEN Rinsed The Lot speared to the front in the Vic Peters (520m) at Wentworth Park on Saturday night, trainer Michelle Sultana knew she was right.

WHEN Rinsed The Lot speared to the front at the first turn and then went on to win the Group 1 Vic Peters (520m) at Wentworth Park on Saturday night, trainer Michelle Sultana knew she was right.

"He's a champion," said Michelle of the victory by the son of Barcia Bale-Mrs Mouse in a flying 29.44 to remain unbeaten in six race starts.

"We have said he's a champion right from the word go."

Rinsed The Lot, raced by a syndicate that includes long-time owner-breeder Brad Canty and jockey great Brenton Avdulla, held off a late charge from Flash Boom Bang to win by a length with Ferness in third a length and a quarter back.

"He's only young and has not had a lot of racing and there was such a lot of early pace in the final," said Michelle.

"But, he's a pretty special dog.

"He went into the heats underdone."

Michelle has had a huge past few months via the great sprint bitch Mackenna winning the G1 Golden Easter Egg.

When drawn into a comparison between Mackenna and Rinsed The Lot, she was reluctant to compare them.

But she also declared Rinsed The Lot "the best in the kennel".

"In the next six months we will get to find out and we are excited to find out what we have got with him," she said.

Avdulla has become a major part of ownership in the Darryl Thomas/Michelle Sultana kennel and was among the first on the phone, from Hong Kong where he is riding, to congratulate the team,.

“It's a huge thrill,” he said. “Racing finishes next Sunday in Hong Kong for the summer break and my family and I will be coming home for a break and it will give us the opportunity to catch up with Brad, Darryl and Michelle.

“And to see Rinsed The Lot in the future.

“Darryl and Michelle told me early that he was a special dog.”
