Rocking Finale To Challenge Series'

The ever popular Ladbrokes Back Yourself Challenge Series' for both the sprinters and stayers reached its crescendo at Wentworth Park on Saturday night with the $20,000 to-the-winner finals run and won.
The sprinters event looked close to a foregone conclusion heading into Saturday night's decider and the Darren Sultana-trained Black Forge didn't disappoint, streaking away for an 11 ½ length win as a raging hot 2/1 on favourite in 29.89.
Using his favourite box eight alley to perfection, the son of Fabregas and grand producer Hail Queenie took his career record to 12 wins from the 19 starts, his prizemoney soaring to almost $50,000 courtesy of the weekend's rich $20,000 first prize.
For the stayers, the $20,000 winner's cheque made its way back to Raglan with the Matthew Murphy-prepared Rockstar Kerr powering home for a 2 ¼ length victory over Goldstein in emphatic fashion.
From the successful My Bro Fabio x Midnight Quest litter owned by Chris Nutt and Shaun Evans, Rockstar Kerr landed her first win since mid-March in Saturday night's feature finale, giving every indication she's really found her groove over the half-mile trip.
The Ladbrokes Back Yourself Challenge Series' have proven to be a huge success for the NSW GBOTA and major sponsor Ladbrokes, with significant prizemoney dispersed across the state leading into Saturday night's grand finals.
