LEVIATHAN owner-breeder Ray Borda has reached plenty of milestones during his lifetime, but few are as satisfying as that achieved on Monday.

RAY Borda has reached plenty of milestones during his lifetime, but few are as satisfying as that achieved on Monday.

Ray's latest greyhound pride and joy, Aston Rupee, was retired from the track exactly a year ago today.

“And, to go with that milestone is the fact he has mated 200 bitches in that first year,” said Ray.

Aston Rupee, of course, is the royally bred son of KC And All and the Group class Aston Miley who herself was a finalist in the G1 Melbourne Cup behind her litter brother Ray's sire great Aston Dee Bee.

Rupee won 23 of his 42 starts and $606,000 landing the G1 Topgun and G1 Temlee and setting track records at Sandown Park and the “new” Angle Park and going within a whisker of the record at The Meadows.

“To reach that 200 milestone after just one year is something else,” said Ray of Aston Rupee's acceptance at stud.

“And, the quality of those bitches is amazing.”

Ray admits to “loving every minute” of videos he receives from breeders showcasing their Aston Rupee pups.

“I get them all the time and I love watching every single one of them.

“Never tire of it.”

Just recently, Aston Exceed, a younger half-brother to Aston Rupee, began stud duties at Newhaven Park Stud.
