Satoshi Runs Race Record To Win Vince Curry
ODDS-ON favourite Satoshi lived up to the hype about him by winning Saturday night’s Group 3 Vince Curry Maiden for Ben McCarthy.

ODDS-ON favourite Satoshi lived up to the hype by winning Saturday night's Group 3 Vince Curry Maiden (520m) at Ipswich for youthful owner-trainer Ben McCarthy.
And, in the process Satoshi ran a race record of 30.29 in the Vince Curry final, the last running of the race at the Ipswich track.
Satoshi is only the fourth greyhound trained by Ben McCarthy, the others including Ipswich Derby winner Fast Eddie.
The race panned out perfectly for Satoshi (Jungle Deuce-Dynamite Lucy) which began fairly, but quickly drove through on the first turn to rail under Moet Magic and take the lead.
He held on strongly to win by three lengths over Moet Magic, who is closely related to the winner, with seven lengths to Strut in third.

Satoshi, named after the Japanese developer who invented Bitcoin, started $1.85 after scorching wins in the first two rounds of the series.
Satoshi was favouring a wrist late in the night when being swabbed and Ben said he would give the dog two weeks off.
“But, this morning (Sunday) he was prancing about like he owned the place … and I suppose he does now,” said Ben.
Ipswich was awash with the McCarthy family and friends.
Cheering on Satoshi was Ben's family, wife Skye and children Chase, Evie and Ruby, Syke's parents Karen and Greg, her brother Shane and his children, Ben's sister Kate and her husband Matt and children and close friend Kristy and her children.
“The grandstand was packed with our crew,” said Ben.
“After he got to the front I was doubled over behind the boxes riding him home, but the screaming from the grandstand was huge.
“The walk back to get him after the race was absolutely amazing, incredible.”
Ben now is looking at getting Satoshi ready for a Novice at Albion Park but has in the back of his mind a tilt at the Launching Pad at Sandown in March.
“The dog has taken a little while to mature, but he's bred to get further and that might also be an option way down the track.” said Ben.
“BMac”, as he is known around the tracks, said his wife Skye would not hear of Satoshi being beaten.
“She has had so much confidence in him winning this race,” said Ben.
“I tried so hard to keep it calm, but Skye was super confident.”
And Ben admitted Sunday morning after watching the replay of the final at least 20 times, work around his property was pretty easy.
“I've never been so happy to mop out the kennels as I was Sunday morning.,” he said.
Satoshi's mother Dynamite Lucy is a half sister to Champagne Sally the second dam of Moet Magic.
Ray and Mary Burman, who race Moet Magic, gave Dynamite Lucy to Ben's father, long-time training star John, as a broodbitch.
Ben's parents John and Maggie are his greatest supporters but flew out on Saturday morning to Queenstown for a New Zealand holiday.
Satoshi joins such greats as Just The Best, Token Prince and High Earner as the winner of the Vince Curry Maiden.
