Scene Set For Gripping Christmas Gift Clash

ALL is in readiness for a bumper card of racing at Wentworth Park highlighted by the clash of Good Odds Harada and Feral Franky in the Xmas Gift.

ALL is in readiness for a bumper card of racing at Wentworth Park this Saturday night with the highlight the running of the Group 3 Christmas Gift (520m) for the sprinters and Group 3 Christmas Cheer (720m) for the stayers.

Scheduled to be staged last Saturday night, the inaugural running of the events under the new four-dog format was pushed back a week as a result of the bush fires that wreaked havoc across NSW last week.

Fortunately, both races will go around as planned, with the Christmas Gift proving to be just that for race-goers, setting up the epic clash of group 1 winning litter-brothers Good Odds Harada and Feral Franky.

Betting for the $25,000 to-the-winner feature has Good Odds Harada a raging hot $1.27 with Sportsbetting.com.au from his box one draw while Feral Franky is a drifting $3.70 from box five.

Jimmy Casey is $9 from box three, while Embye is the rank outsider at $26 from his less than desirable box seven draw.

The Christmas Cheer for the stayers is proving to be a far more competitive betting race with dual group 1 winner Blue Moon Rising ($1.85) holding favouritism over Just Terms ($2.30).

Last time out the pair slugged it out in the Newcastle Cup at Ladbrokes Gardens where on that occasion Just Terms finished too strongly to capture her maiden group race victory for Jodie Lord.

Suited by the four-dog format, Just Terms looks awfully hard to hold out in the group 3 spectacle, while China O'Brien (box three) is $8 for Glen McKinley.

A flying 42.12 winner at Wentworth Park 720 metres three runs back, the daughter of My Bro Fabio oozes talent but does run into a steep class rise this weekend.

Saturday night's Wentworth Park program also sees Ebby Ripper's swansong to racing, the crowd-pleasing stayer the $2.15 favourite from box one in the second event of the night.

The daughter of Sh Avatar has given owner/trainer Michael Eberand countless memories across her career and here's hoping she goes out a winner on Saturday night.
