Skye's The Limit For These Aston Dee Bee Pups

ASTON Dee Bee is proving so, so popular since retiring to stud and I am hearing huge reports about his first pups which are now being reared.

ASTON Dee Bee is proving so, so popular since retiring to stud and I am hearing huge reports about his first pups now being reared.

Jason Fletcher obviously thinks very, very highly of him, having whelped a litter of five dogs and one bitch from his G1 class bitch Fantastic Skye (Goodesy-Light Fantastic by El Galo).

Fantastic Skye won the Group 2 Laurels and was third in the G1 National Futurity among her 18 wins for $117,000 in stakes. She is a litter sister to Dapto track record breaker Fantastic Dotty who is also a proven producer.

Fantastic Skye's first litter to Fabregas includes Fantastic Zip (14 wins, $37,000) etc.

Her second litter to Black Magic Opal boasts the very exciting Aston Sapporo and Aston Peroni.

Fantastic Dotty is the dam of Group star Campini (13 wins, $70,000) and Fantastic Yankee (9 wins, $48,000) etc.

VICTORIAN Harry Manolitsis has been hogging the spotlight in recent times with his star gallopers Get It Gizmo and Flynn.

The former finished a great third in the $1 Million Chase at Wentworth last Friday night. The latter has been in NSW furthering his credentials.

Harry reports Shoot To Miss (Kinloch Brae-Jubilation by Collision), a litter sister to Flynn and a finalist in the Group 2 Laurels at Sandown, has been injured and forced to retire.

“She injured a wrist which will stop her racing,” said Harry. “The bitch won four races for us at Ballarat, Shepparton and Warragul and as a litter sister to Flynn from her fabulous damline, we expect her to be a future broodbitch success.”

Harry didn't let Velocity Bettina's near track record 30.09 victory in the final of the Ipswich Futurity on Saturday night go unnoticed and is looking at putting Shoot To Miss to boom young stud dog Zambora Brockie.

Velocity Bettina's dam Velocity Shirl is a sister to Shoot To Miss' dam Jubilation.

And, the cross of Kinloch Brae (sire of Shoot To Miss) brings in common links to the cross of Brockie's damsire Flying Stanley.

DANIEL Evans, up in Queensland, reports that classy bitch Invergarry Lady has whelped to Keybow.

The daughter of Mr Prizz-Wave Zone by Craigie Whistler was a multiple Group finalist in the Ipswich Auction and Qld Futurity and a Young Guns finalist at Ipswich.

She has whelped four dogs and two bitches to Keybow who is starting to prove himself a very good stud dog.

This is the direct damline of that champion stayer Boronia Blossom (fifth dam of Invergarry Lady).

Daniel reports royally bred Regal Sapphire has been mated to Melbourne Cup winner My Redeemer.

He bought Regal Sapphire (Barcia Bale-Regal Lauryn by Surf Lorian) from the late Len Antonio some time ago as a broodbitch.

She raced 17 times for three wins and seven placings and is a litter sister to such stars as Regal Recall (Ips 431m TR) and that other Albion Park star Regal Topaz.

There are so many highly proven crosses to be picked up in the My Redeemer-Regal Sapphire cross especially the proven Where's Pedro/Hallucinate cross, and the link between Fernando Bale and Barcia Bale's pedigree (as in G1 Aust Cup winner Hecton Bale).

MARYBOROUGH'S Joe Borg is another who watched with envy at the performances of the great My Redeemer.

That's because Joe has three dogs and two bitches by My Redeemer from his fantastic race bitch Come On Fantasy (Premier Fantasy-Come On Luann).

It is a mating that makes obvious sense. When Premier Fantasy was mated to My Redeemer's dam Where's Demonica, it produced champion Up Hill Jill.

Come On Fantasy won 18 races and $198,000 and was a tick off being a champion. She was placed in the Zoom Top, Topgun Stayers, Maidment Memorial, Big Dog Cup, Top Cat Video Cup, Sale Cup and a finalist in three other G1s.

Her own dam Come On Luann won 13 races and $53,000 and is also the dam of Ballerino (19 wins, $106,000) and Waleonjon (20 wins, $93,000) etc.

STEVE Beck and his syndicate members are among the very first to utilise a Fernando Bale bitch in a mating to Aston Dee Bee.

Their bitch She's A Sort (Fernando Bale-Jetta's Girl by Surf Lorian) has just whelped a dog and two bitches to the Melbourne Cup winner.

She's A Sort raced 25 times for 10 wins and nine placings for $31,000 in stakes. Her wins came at Ipswich and Albion Park the latter in a fast 29.82.

She is from a litter that included Burn The Jetta (16 wins, $24,000), Jetta Knight (13 wins, $25,000) and Ticket To Paris (11 wins, $31,000) etc. Ticket To Paris was a finalist in the G2 Lismore Gold Cup.

Tony Brett, who trained most of the litter, reports Ticket To Paris, which he was hoping to breed with himself, recently broke a leg in a paddock accident and had to be put down.

Putting She's A Sort to Aston Dee Bee brings in a cross of the full relations Goddess Of Fire and Knocka Norris the same cross found in Fernando bale's great littermates Poke The Bear and Out Of Range.

There are a number of other aspects to this mating that appeal.

SONIA Davis has been breeding quality race dogs for a good few years now.

She recently whelped a litter of six dogs and four bitches by Mepunga Blazer-Envy Heist by Talk's Cheap.

To say Murrabit-based Sonia has high hopes for the litter is an understatement.

Envy Heist was third in the G1 Sapphire crown and a multiple city winner in her 14 victories which netted $105,000. All seven of her littermates were prolific winners.

The mating to Mepunga Blazer is very interesting indeed.

It links the famous half relations Brett Lee and Big Daddy Cool 4×4, but brings in a cross of Brett Lee and Bit Chili which has produced a number of high class gallopers.

Talks Cheap is the damsire of G1 star Hasten Slowly.
