BETTING giant Sportsbet has pledged $187,500 to the Greyhound Adoption Program if Wow She’s Fast wins Saturday night’s The TAB Phoenix at The Meadows.

The Kel Greenough-trained daughter of My Bro Fabio is $8 in betting to annex the $750,000-to-the-winner blockbuster from her box four draw.

And it won’t be just her army of followers cheering if she claims victory with GRV’s Greyhound Adoption Program to be a huge beneficiary also, set to share in the lucrative spoils.

“What better way to further promote The Phoenix than to pledge a percentage of the winnings to the greyhound adoption program,” said Sportsbet’s Public Relations Manager Simon Legg.

“If Wow She’s Fast wins we’ll donate 25% of the prize to GAP. Rehoming is the backbone of the industry so to be able to support such a great cause in this way is something Sportsbet is very excited about.”

Winner at four of her six career starts in explosive fashion, Wow She’s Fast goes into Saturday night’s The Phoenix as by far the least experienced runner.

The hugely exciting sprinter rounded out her preparations for the race with a record handslip trial at Sandown last Sunday, giving premier trainer Kel Greenough every reason to believe she’s spot on for Saturday night’s assignment.

Further adding to the theatre around the $1.145m event is news Sportsbet and SEN have had a $10k wager where the real winner will again be the Victorian Greyhound Adoption Program.

“Whoever finished second out of Wow She’s Fast and SEN’s runner Koblenz will donate $10,000 to GAP,” Legg added.

“We are obviously confident it’s something we won’t be shelling out but if we do then we’ll be more than happy to support a great cause.”
