Star Quartet To Tackle Super Stayers Invitational

A star-studded staying quartet will take their place in the Group 2 Super Stayers Invitational at Q2 Parklands on Thursday night.

Boasting $107,825 in prize money, the four-dog contest has become one of the signature events of the Queensland winter carnival, and with a stellar field assembled, 2025 will be no different.

Leading the local charge is Autumn Storm for Tom Tzouvelis with her crowning achievement her thumping all the way win in The Ladbrokes 715 at The Gardens earlier in the year.

Two starts back the G1 Ipswich Cup winner landed the G3 Dashing Corsair (642m) at Q1 before failing to fire in the State Of Origin Distance last Thursday.

Three-time Group 1 winner Ethanol Water will take her place in the field and confirmed she was on song for the race with an all-the-way victory in the Pink Diamond Champion Distance Final (680m) at Geelong on Friday night.

The prolific winning daughter of Droopys Sydney has regained her best form in recent weeks and looks set for a big back end to the Queensland carnival.

Adding another dimension to the race is South Australian stayer Apilla which landed the Group 1 Association Cup at Wentworth Park during the Golden Easter Egg Carnival for trainer Damien Smith.

The daughter of My Redeemer hasn't raced since contesting a Sandown Cup heat in mid-May but by all reports is in perfect order ahead of her Super Stayers tilt.

Rounding out the field is prolific Group 1 winner Raider's Guide with the Tasmanian powerhouse heading to Queensland following his Sandown Cup heroics.

The ageless galloper continues to race in grand form and will be a force to be reckoned with in the Super Stayers ahead of a tilt at the G1 Queensland Cup.

The box draw for the race will be determined on Monday.
