Vice Grip is bred to be a superstar.

His litter brother Rostered Off (26 wins, $213,000) was third in the G1 Perth Cup behind his brother. He has been in four other feature race finals.

Their dam, Bells Are Ringin (Kinloch Brae-Absolute Stunna) won 21 races and $279,000 in stakes. She won the G1 Sandown Cup.

She is a litter sister to superstars Blazin Bomber (27 wins, $248,000) and Ring The Bell 37 wins, $437,000).

Bells Are Ringin is also dam of Mallee Magic (23 wins, $162,000, G3 SA Derby, SA Sprint Cship, finalist G1 Adelaide Cup), Mallee Dreamer (finalist G3 SA Oaks) and Yahoo Serious (11 wins, $79,000) etc.

Vice Grip has an intensely in-bred pedigree, showing a 3×3 of Bombastic Shiraz along the direct damline on both sides of his pedigree.

He also has a 4×4 of the famous half brothers Hallucinate and Pure Octane, and a double of Irish bred, US sprint star and sire great Fortress.

He boasts one of the strongest damlines this country has seen tracing back to a sister to champion sire Head Honcho.

The obvious choice as potential mates for Vice Grip at stud will be daughters of Fernando Bale. That's a given.

Fernando works spectacularly with Barcia Bale (grandsire of Vice Grip) but also with Kinloch Brae (found in Sennachie).

And, bitches with Premier Fantasy, to introduce the “nick” of virtual brothers Fortress and Murlens Slippy will be ideal. Daughters of Mepunga Blazer could be interesting.

Another obvious choice will be bitches with an up close cross of Where's Pedro to link with both his litter brother Hallucinate and his half brother Pure Octane. Daughters of Allen Deed, My Redeemer, My Bro Fabio, Mister Twister, Moreira etc. could suit.

Kinloch Brae has also done well when combined with Collision and Cosmic Rumble.

Blazin' Bomber (litter brother to Vice Grip's dam) has as his best offspring at stud Showtime Boomer whose dam is by Collision and out of a sister to My Bro Fabio's mother.

This also means daughters of Feral Franky and Good Odds Harada (by Collision from a Mogambo bitch) could suit him.

Vice Grip's dam has Elite Oriental and her brother Knocka Norris is found in many pedigrees.

Daughters of Out Of Range (by Fernando Bale from a daughter of Knocka Norris) could also suit Vice Grip.

And, with Superior Panama making inroads into pedigrees in this country, his daughters too could suit Vice Grip because this will double the famous Representation damline found in Superior Panama's damline and also that of Kinloch Brae.
