There's No Business Like ‘Show Business'

PUNTERS HQ will celebrate their 15th group 1 finalist when Show Business takes his place in Saturday night’s Vic Peters Cup at Wentworth Park.

THE PUNTERS HQ Syndicate will celebrate their 15th group 1 finalist when Show Business takes his place in Saturday night's Ladbrokes Vic Peters Cup (520m) at Wentworth Park.

An impressive all-the-way heat winner on the weekend from box one, posting a career best time of 30.00, Show Business heads into Saturday night's $75,000 to-the-winner finale as a 16/1 chance with bookmaker Bet365, the son of Dyna Villa drawn precariously in box four.

"Let's hope it's lucky 15," beamed syndicate manager and Punters HQ owner Craig O'Loughlin in the lead up to Saturday's finale.

"This is our third group 1 finalist at Wentworth Park. We have been in a Golden Easter Egg with Crash Bandicoot and an Association Cup with Techno. In fact, they were on the same night. It was a huge buzz for the owners and we're very much looking forward to Saturday night."

Show Business, trained by Jodie and Andy Lord to 10 wins from his 29 career starts, brought up Punters HQ's 112th winner for the year on the weekend from 418 starts.

"He is as honest as the day is long this boy, we couldn't be prouder of him," said O'Loughlin.

"He keeps improving and who knows how far he will go? If he steps like he did last week he could be vying for the lead as there is not much pace in the final it seems. He's big odds but he's a tough dog to get past!"

In what promises to be a rip roaring Vic Peters finale this Saturday night, Show Business is joined by kennelmate Cawbourne Marty in the rich decider, while favourite for the race is NSW's pin-up chaser Feral Franky, looking to continue his blistering form for trainer Jack Smith.

"Win, lose or draw, Show Business's owners will have the time of their life. They are flying in from Adelaide and Perth to watch him on Saturday. That's what it's all about!"

Punters HQ also heaped praise on GRNSW's recent prizemoney increases.

“We love what GRNSW has done recently with the prizemoney (increases)," added O'Loughlin.

"We are about to buy a greyhound that will be aimed at the Zoom Top Maiden at Goulburn. As long as our owners are having fun and winning races we will keep plugging away.

"There's never been a better time to get involved in racing a greyhound in NSW."
