TWELVE races at Sandown Park on Thursday where a number of favourites are expected to be hard to beat.
Our best bets are fairly tight in the market but we’ve landed on a couple of value bets which are offering some decent value.
SANDOWN PARK FIELDS & FORM
Race 2 Number 1 BELL BURNER
Finished a well beaten third in his heat as an even money favourite but that was from box eight and he moves to the red here which is a huge advantage from this start. In fact this is the first time he wears the red in his career and expect that’s enough to see him return to the winners list.
Race 6 Number 1 KNICKS BALE
In fantastic form winning three of her past four but they’ve been over 700 and she drops back the 595 tonight. Given she’s drawn the red I expect she pushes through and stays handy which will be enough to get her in the finish. Runs into the hugely talented Do It which was a top second to Tiggerlong Tonk last week. That’s the form line but am slightly concerned how he’s drawn.
Race 8 Number 2 MEPUNGA RUBY
Really gallant effort to stick on for second last week at The Meadows when she would have been forgiven for fading out of the money. Drawn to land either in front or right on the pace and she’s heads and shoulders the best of the night for mine. The $1.75 on offer looks about right – won five from six at Sandown Park. Loves the place.
Race 5 Number 2 SHIMA BOLT
Runs into a couple of smart ones but at $7 on offer represents great each-way value despite just the two place dividends. Real case for an inside draw and his three most recent efforts have been behind good class dogs in races outside his reach. Don’t think this is and happy to get slightly involved at the good odds.
Race 10 Number 2 CALL ME CHLOE
Been out of the winners list for longer than she should have been. Bad draws and bad luck have conspired against her. Was beaten far off the red here Saturday in a good race which put the writing on the wall for a return to winning form this afternoon.
