THE Meadows moves to the Thursday night racing timeslot this week hosting the Victorian Sprint and Distance Championships.

12 races on the card where we’ve found a couple best bets which are well boxed a few value selections as well.

Best Bets

Race 2 Number 1 Mepunga Warrior

Scored here from this box and distance last time out and expect he repeats the dose tonight. Inside a big plus for this fella but even more so from the bend start. $1.60 in early markets which seems about right; has everything imaginable in his favour.

Race 5 Number 1 Kuro Kismet

Kicked off his middle distance campaign with a sharp 34.36 Sandown win last week over the 595m. Has a great record from inside draws and is clearly the class runner in this field. Can be slightly tardy early which from the rails is a slight concern on the corner start but he’s fantastic in a field and is in A+ form.

Race 8 Number 8 Mr. Fix It

Don’t think there’s a greyhound in better form than Mr. Fix It. Only does what he needs to in his races but providing he’s winning that’s all that matters. Loves The Meadows, winning 11 of 19 at the track, including his past two after finishing third in the Maturity Classic. Box eight is tricky at The Meadows but not a final boasting stacks of speed. In his corner to make it three on the bounce.

Best Value

Race 1 Number 1 Call Me Buster

Been with this fella recently and giving him one more chance now he’s drawn a box. Has drawn the guts his past handful of starts and draws box one for the first time in 15 starts. Really good second in brisk time last week in his heat which put the writing on the wall for a forward effort here. Great each-way chance in what’s a strong fifth grade final.

Race 10 Number 3 Fractured

Been racing in stronger class in recent outings which brings him right into this race at each-way odds. Great win strike-rate and looks to get a nice run just off the pace in this. Boasts a fantastic middle distance record and expect that kicks in late for this 525m assignment.
