Top Greyhound Racing Bets For Thursday, August 29

WE’VE gone to Dapto for our best bet, confident the Ray Webster-trained Sir Duke can end an agonising run of placings and land race six on the program.

WE'VE gone to Dapto for our best bet on a big Thursday night of racing, confident the Ray Webster-trained Sir Duke can end an agonising run of placings and land race six on the program.

Our best bets kick off in race two at Sandown Park, where talented Dyna Villa sprinter Iylee Bale looks a fantastic chance of opening up her metropolitan winning account.

As well as best bets from around the country, the Recorder's also poured through the quaddie form while our ‘lay' of the night is sure to raise some eyebrows as well.

NOTE: Times are listed in Australian Eastern time.

SANDOWN PARK – Race 2 (6.24pm) Number 8, IYLEE BALE

Caught the eye at her Sandown debut last week finishing second, the effort a terrific pointer towards her landing the prize tonight. Don't mind the pink for her and if she can just marginally sharpen up the 5.11 she went early last week reckon she'll give this a big shake – at around the $3.00 mark. From a hot litter and she's another heading in the right direction.

ALBION PARK – Race 1 (6.37pm) Number 3, WOLF RACKETEER

Going against the market here and tipping Wolf Racketeer to turn the tables on Sequana from last week's Eric Thomson Maiden Final. Early markets have Sequeana $1.70 and Wolf Racketeer $2.20 and happy to go the way of the latter given he's a good thing to lead, has dazzling early burn. The favourite moves from two box 8 appearances to the checks and if our tip can grab a margin through the first two splits and improve another tenth late then he'll be mighty hard to beat.

ANGLE PARK – Race 4 (8.13pm) Number 4, CANYA CHASE

One of SA's most exciting young sprinters and on best times has a stranglehold on this, boasting a sizzling 29.63 beside his name. The slight hang up is he isn't flash early so box four isn't ideal but no doubt he's the best dog in the race and I like the fact he's coming into this off a monster straight victory at Murray Bridge. If he's within 4-5 down the back, expect he's too strong late. Class edge for sure.

DAPTO – Race 6 (9.07pm) Number 2, SIR DUKE

This fella has proven costly of late but he's got a lot in his corner tonight so prepared to give him one more chance. His last win was eight starts back and in those efforts since has finished in the placings at six of those. Drawn nicely tonight in two, has placed at each of his three Dapto starts, and he looks to get a charmed run early. If he doesn't win tonight he's on the barred list. For good!

ALBION PARK – Race 8 (9.13pm) Number 2, SPOOKIE VISION

Terrific race to close out the Brisbane quaddie with the 2,3 & 4 all hugely talented with terrific claims. The way the boxes have fallen pretty keen on Spookie Vision for top Qld trainer Tony Brett. Has been in sublime form, including a sizzling 24.73 win at Ipswich over the 431m three runs back. Has been drawing wide boxes lately which he can more than handle but from the two tonight, give him a great chance of stepping and charging to the top. Should be a great race, at the $3.00 mark our tip represents good value.

** LAY **: SANDOWN PARK – Race 6 (7.49pm) Number 4, NEO CLEO

Taking on a multiple group winner this week in Neo Cleo who was sensational here last week registering her 15th Sandown victory in 29.28. Draws the four tonight (her worst winning box by far, 1 from 10) and has two monster 36 kilo dogs drawn either side of her for this. It's a very good race and for mine the even-money about her is very short so happy to let her go tonight.

BEST BET: Race 6 (9.07pm) Number 2, SIR DUKE

BEST VALUE: DAPTO – Race 1 (7.12pm) Number 6, GUMBY'S RHINO

Well-bred youngster for Neil Staines that goes around in the opener tonight at Dapto. This fella has a lot more to offer than what we've seen at his three Goulburn starts to date and debuting at Dapto, look for a forward performance at around the $7.00 mark. Worth an each-way ticket for sure. Kennel is on fire!

BEST QUINELLA: DAPTO – Race 4 (8.22pm) Numbers 1 & 5, TANK'S RHINO & PETER THIEF
