TOPGUN quinella Photo Man and Mcinerney will clash again on Saturday night in the Group 3 Sandown Shootout (515m).

The winners of the Topgun and Million Dollar Chase automatically qualify for a Shootout start.

Photo Man's part-owner Dave Mckenzie confirmed today their Group 1 Topgun victor would again take on Million Dollar Chase winner Mcinerney in the Shootout.

She's A Pearl, winner of the first 2022 running of the Million Dollar Chase, is unlikely to accept the offer to run in the Shootout.

“The dog has to race,” said Dave whose cousin Gavin Clifton trains Photo Man.

“Of course our target is the following week and the heats of the Melbourne Cup.

“But, he went into the Topgun probably half a run short of his best and he has pulled up super after the win.

“In fact, he is bouncing.”

Photo Man (Aston Dee Bee-Amlin Mystique) took his career to 32 starts for 13 wins and 14 placings for stakes of $412,000 when he led throughout to win the Topgun .

“We were choked up with emotion after winning the Topgun,” said Dave today.

“We understand the importance of winning such a great race and the great dogs to have won it before us.

“We are planning a family celebration next Sunday and will specially invite Gerry Snyders who bred him.”

The Shootout is worth $50,000 to the winner and the other three runners will each earn $7500.

With Mcinerney and Photo Man walk up entrants into the race, the final two places will be decided by representatives from GRV and Sandown on Wednesday.
