Velocity Charm All Set For Flying Amy

VELOCITY Charm gave breeder, owner Steve Williams a bonus when scoring in a heat of the Flying Amy Classic (520m) at Albion Park last Thursday night.

Williams admits to being partial to a punt when he thinks one of his dogs has a great chance of success.
So when Velocity Charm started at the odds of $17.40 when winning at Albion Park, Williams could not believe his fortune.
“She was coming off a second in a heat and the final of the Mick Byrne Memorial the previous two weeks, but someone thought she had no chance this week,” said Williams.
“I can assure you it was not me.”
Peter Wilson, who trained Williams' very first greyhound, prepares Velocity Charm (Mogambo-Velocity Melzon).
She scored by two and a quarter lengths over Alpha Ulysses with Passion Bonus in third.
Williams bred Velocity Charm from Velocity Melzon a daughter of Lonesome Cry-Seize The Moment.
“The mother could really run and Jason Thompson had a huge wrap on her in the early stages of her career,” said Steve.
“But eventually she hurt herself and we decided to breed with her. She trialled a length off Black Magic Opal at Healesville one morning.”
Velocity Melzon has a litter of three dogs and five bitches, whelped late in February, by Barcia Bale.
