WATCH: Davies On Emotional Egg Journey 

Battle Born was almost the giant killer in last weekend's heats of the Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg when finishing right on the tail of defending champion She's A Pearl.

He didn't quite win, but a second placing saw the dog book a spot in this weekend's semi-finals of the Egg, so this Saturday night Battle Born and his trainer Stephen Davies will return to Wentworth Park attempting to qualify for the $300,000-to-the-winner grand final on April 8.

The team at thedogs.com.au went and spent some time with Stephen and his twin sister Sherril at their Salt Ash property this week in preparation for the biggest race of their lives.
