White To Resist Group 1 Sapphire Temptation

STEVE White will resist the temptation to throw Professor Snitch in at the deep end despite her slashing Warragul Breeders’ Classic win on Sunday.

TRAINER Steve White will resist the temptation to throw Professor Snitch in at the deep end despite her slashing Warragul Breeders' Classic (460m) victory on Sunday.

White had been contemplating giving the gifted daughter of Sennachie a crack at the fast approaching Group 1 Sapphire Crown at Sandown Park but has instead elected to bypass the $100,000-to-the-winner series.

"I did give it some thought but have decided against it," White, who won back-to-back Sapphire Crowns with Paua To Burn in 2004/05, said.

"She's still very young and she'd just be giving away too much age and experience. There's plenty of races out there so I'll just look to place her as  best I can and continue to build on her confidence.

"I'm really excited as to what the future holds for her; she's got all the traits of a real topliner."

Sunday's powerhouse 25.69 Breeders' Classic triumph extended Professor Snitch's early career record to five wins and a third from just six appearances.

Not two until next month, the daughter of Sennachie and Fabwick posted a breathtaking 24.67 victory at Ipswich over the 431m to begin her career back in January.

One of the most exciting juveniles in training, Professor Snitch is one of many Sennachie pups showing immense promise as the former track record holder and group 1 winner continues to make early waves at stud.

"He's going from strength to strength," White beamed.

"His pups are showing speed, strength, winning group races and breaking track records.

"You can't ask for more than that."
