Why Mr. Audacious Demands A Stud Career

RACHAEL Busuttil must have been beside herself when Mr Audacious first went into training.

The son of Beast Unleashed and Audacious Bell, all 35kgs of him, proved to be “a rocket”.

But, what would haunt Rachael is the fact his racing career was restricted to just 18 starts, of which he would win 14 for stakes of $85,000.

MR. AUDACIOUS AT STUD

Many, many greyhounds racing in today's world of massive prizemoney rewards, can achieve just that sort of credentials without ever being considered for a stud career.

Mr Audacious' race career demanded he be given his opportunity at stud alongside some of the greats of the track.

Among those 14 wins were track records at Shepparton and Traralgon and the Group 3 Warragul St Leger, as well as a 29.28 Sandown win the dog's only city performance.

He was also a finalist in the Group 2 Shepparton Cup and Group 2 Traralgon Cup and scratched on the eve of the Group 2 Ballarat Cup.

ALL that in just 18 starts.

Mr Audacious is that good!

But, he was no “one hit wonder”, coming from a litter of seven all of them winners and also including Unleash Collinda (18 wins, $63,000, Healesville TR twice, finalist G2 Healesville Cup, G3 Capalaba Cup), Modern Collinda (8 wins, $52,000, Australian Sprint), Collinda Chips (7 wins, $52,000, Pink Diamond Maiden Sprinter), Audacious Stell (8 wins, $26,000), Collinga Vogue (7 wins, $18,000) and Collinda Billie (3 wins, $12,000).

Mr Audacious goes to stud with bloodlines to match his sensational race career.

He is a son of Beast Unleashed, the Barcia Bale-Little Miss Hap dog who raced 15 times for 10 wins earning $230,000. He won the G2 Launching Pad at Sandown beating G1 champions Tornado Tears and Dyna Patty. He also won the G2 Gosford Gold Cup, running a 28.90 TR in his heat win, and was a finalist in the G1 Peter Mosman.

Beast Unleashed is bred on an almost identical pattern to champion Aston Dee Bee (G1 Melb Cup, champion sire) and his litter sister Aston Miley (dam of champion Aston Rupee).

Beast Unleashed is a top notch stud dog, a huge speed influence.

Among his best are: Sacred Stance, My Name's Stacey, Robotnik, the sprint star Zigzag Cabang (35 wins), Money Owes, Barrio Beast , On The Mend, Afternoon, Flashing Kuna, Classic Touch etc.

It is the direct damline of Mr Audacious that is just as proud a boast.

It is the direct female line of Dennis Reid's legend Travelling Girl, through her champion daughter Golden Fox. This too is the same family as Flying Ricciardo (also by Barcia Bale and tracing to Kenthurst Kate a litter sister to Travelling Girl).

But it also includes Lochinvar Marlow and his full brother Godsend. Both have been stud dog successes.

Audacious Bell, dam of Mr Audacious, won and comes from a litter that includes Audacious Poppy (21 wins, $61,000) and Fearless Swan (16 wins, $57,000, 2nd G2 Laurels).

Fearless Swan is already the dam of Fearless Rory (finalist G3 Launching Pad, G2 WBool Cup), Tokyo Bird (3rd G1 NZ Oaks, finalist G1 NZ Cup), Fearless Max (finalist G1 Harrison Dawson).

The second dam, Audacious Elle, won 16 and was a finalist in the G1 Australian Cup. She was a litter brother to Soda Boy (22 wins, $80,000, finalist G1 Aust Cup, G1 Silver Chief).

Audacious Elle is also the dam of He's So Good (17 wins, $67,000, finalist G2 Traralgon Cup).

The fact Mr Audacious has Bombastic Shiraz as the sire of his second dam means he should be mated to bitches with more Bombastic Shiraz. Daughters of My Redeemer will be just one perfect option. Daughters of Aston Dee Bee could provide some unique opportunities for intensity. Those that get distance will be ideal.

Mr Audacious is line bred to the famous half brothers Hallucinate and Pure Octane. Bitches with up-close crosses of Where's Pedro, their brother, will suit.

Daughters of Allen Deed will be especially suitable, and those by My Bro Fabio as well.

As a brilliant speedster, able to run record breaking times, Mr Audacious should also be ideal for mating to bitches with an outcross influence in their pedigree that could run a distance.
