Young Guns Winner On Winter Carnival Path

WINTER Carnival plans are in order for Hara's Clyde after he swept aside an imposing field to win the Ipswich Young Guns final (520m) at the weekend.

WINTER Carnival plans are in order for exciting youngster Hara's Clyde after he swept aside an imposing field to win the Ipswich Young Guns final (520m) at the weekend.

The son of Fernando Bale and Hara's Annie took his record to 10 starts for six wins and two second and $26,000 in stakes when beating group star Velocity Bettina and kennelmate Messy Man in a fast 30.32.

Breeder and owner Tony Glover, who has been building this damline for more than a decade, said trainer Tony Brett has confirmed Hara's Clyde would now go back to Albion Park to continue his career.

“I haven't spoken to Tony since Saturday night, but he's planning on a few Albion Park starts to lead him into the Winter Carnival there,” said Glover.

Glover has been in greyhound racing for 25 years and rates Hara's Clyde potentially the best he has owned.

“Tony Brett always said his older half sister Hara's Honey could have been the best bitch he trained but for a series of injuries which eventually stopped her racing career,” said Glover.

That was not before she had been a finalist in the Group 2 Queensland Futurity and second to Hasten Slowly in the Group 3 Flying Amy Classic.

“I'm just waiting for her to come on season now,” said Glover.

He has a six-pup litter by Barcia Bale-Hara's Annie now six months old.

“I had a few inquiries to buy them, but when the Fernando Bale litter started to show so much I decided to keep all of the litter,” added Glover.

Hara's Annie produced 10 in her Fernando Bale litter.

“They will not be two until May and a few have had little niggling injuries, a couple came on season, but all of them show promise,” he said.

Hara's Clyde had already won in a fast 29.95 at Albion Park and scorched around Ipswich in 2476 and 30.12 prior to the Young Guns series.
