Young Zoning In On Another Hobart Win

REGALLY bred chaser Zoned In, favourite for race three at Hobart this Thursday night, is on the market.

"He's feeling fit and well going into Thursday night and I expect him to run really well," said trainer Paul Young in the lead up to Thursday night's Hobart card.

"We've got him on the market for $3,500 which is fair and reasonable I think. There's still plenty left in the tank for someone that wants to have a go with him and his form is good … the owners like to turn them over so now's the right time."

Zoned In is a son of Fabregas and Brook's Doll, making him a full-brother to NSW star Pindari Express and half-brother to Melbourne Cup winner Ando's Mac.

The May 2016 whelp has raced on 30 occasions for four wins and 13 placings, his two most recent appearances close up seconds at Hobart over the 340 metres.

Early markets have Zoned in a $2.25 chance to claim race three on Thursday night from out in box seven.

"I don't mind him out there wide to tell you the truth," said Young.

"He doesn't crash down to the fence and he's pretty sensible in a field. Sometimes down on the inside you can get cluttered up and put out of business, especially over the shorter trips like Thursday.

"I'm not hoping for good luck I just don't want any bad luck with him; he's feeling fresh and well, I'd be surprised if he doesn't run a really good race. There doesn't look to be a lot of depth to the field."

In an intriguing third event on Thursday night, betting suggests Zoned In's main opposition is the Sue Gittus-trained Undermine in box three and Nicholas Howard-trained Mecca Senor in box five.

In fact, they are the only three under double figure odds.

Meanwhile, one of the better bets on Thursday night's program looks to be the Michael Pearce-trained Country Psycho, drawn box one in race five over the 461 metres.

An even money chance with bookmakers, Country Psycho's last victory was at Launceston way back in July over the 600 metres but with the aid of box one on Thursday night looks hard to beat.

A winner at three of her five starts when wearing the red rug, the daughter of Kinloch Brae looks a terrific chance of returning to the winner's list.
