Zambora Brockie Pups Taking Flight

WHEN the great Zambora Brockie retired to stud a few years back, much was expected of him as a sire with the group 1 star living up to the hype.

WHEN the great Zambora Brockie retired to stud a few years back, much was expected of him as a sire.

The son of Nitro Burst-Flying Liddy by Flying Stanley proved during his racetrack career of 55 starts for 33 wins and 12 placings, earning $532,000 in stakes, that he was special … very special.

Victories in the G1 Vic Peters, G1 Winter Cup, G2 Shootout, G2 Warrnambool Cup, G2 Horsham Cup, G2 Ballarat Cup proved that.

He was also second in the G1 National Sprint, third in the G1 Temlee and a finalist in four other Group 1s.

He met them all, and beat them all.

Potential stud dog greats don't come with much better credentials.

And, from his first few pups to race, it already appears as though Zambora Brockie is on track to become a great sire.

Queenslanders, especially Selena and Mick Zammit, can vouch for that.

The Zammits have two of the most promising youngsters racing in Queensland, if not the entire country.

They are littermates Sequana and Stinger Noir (Zambora Brockie-Lilly Sur Seine by Barcia Bale). Rusty Dillon trains their litter brother No Easy Beat who runs in Thursday night's Publican's Cup Final at Albion Park.

All three are potential superstars and their connections make no secret of their belief in their future.

Stinger Noir has won eight of 14 including the rich Novice final at Albion Park in July and has since scorched to a 30.33 win at Ipswich and also won at Casino and Capalaba.

His sister Sequana looks special. She's won two of three and those wins have been in flying 29.81 and 29.78 at Albion Park.

Rusty Dillon makes no secret of his belief No Easy Beat could become a superstar. He's already won in 29.77 and 29.81 at Albion Park.

The pedigree of the trio of littermates is amazing. Their dam Lilly Sur Seine was unraced but she was a Barcia Bale-River Seine litter sister to Rusty's star galloper Big Easy Red (22 wins, $133,000).

The pedigree breeder Russ Farrell put together when he mated Lilly Sur Seine to Zambora Brockie was fabulous. Zambora Brockie's dam Flying Liddy and River Seine are bred on an identical cross of Kiowa Sweet Trey/Trendy Leigh or his litter brother Brett Lee.

River Seine has been a wonderful broodbitch but the litter from her unraced daughter by Zambora Brockie appears destined to take this line to even greater heights.

This initial success by the progeny of Zambora Brockie will come as no surprise to his trainer Anthony Azzopardi.

He bred the very first litter by him to the racetrack, from the Magic Sprite bitch Anastasia. It includes the brilliant Seal The Deal (10 wins, $34,000). Seal The Deal, a sizzling Horsham winner on Tuesday, and his littermates only turned two in June.

Sequana, Stinger Noir and No Easy Beat will not turn two until late in October.

The Brockie's are babies, but they are running and running VERY fast.

Zambora Brockie is yet another example of the famed Genuine Replica damline that continues to provide the Fletcher family, and many others, with so many fine gallopers.

Interesting in the pedigree of Zambora Brockie is that he is bred on a reverse cross to champion Glen Gallon who is a son of Flying Stanley and out of a daughter of Bombastic Shiraz.

With the influence of Trendy Leigh in the direct damline of Zambora Brockie, it should be obvious that broodbitches with Brett Lee, the litter brother to Trendy Leigh, in their make-up are ideal for matings to Brockie.

This is exactly how Sequana, Stinger Noir and No Easy Beat are bred.

Bitches carrying Premier Fantasy should be mated to Brockie.

That's because Rikasso Lassie (second dam of Flying Stanley) has a powerful link to Premier Fantasy. They bring in the litter sisters, hugely influential Murlens Chill and Westpark Model.

Daughters of Magic Sprite as potential mates for Zambora Brockie are ideal. Nitro Burst is bred along very similar lines to Leprechaun Yap in the damline of Magic Sprite.

This is exactly how Seal The Deal is bred.

Zambora Brockie's stud career is just getting underway.

If Seal The Deal, Sequana, Stinger Noir and No Easy Beat are anything to go by, Brockie is certain to become an ideal alternative for Fernando Bale and Barcia Bale.
