Zipping Truvy Scratched From Super Stayers

ZIPPING Truvy’s much anticipated staying debut will have to wait for another day after being withdrawn from Saturday's Super Stayer at The Meadows.

ZIPPING Truvy's much anticipated staying debut will have to wait for another day after being withdrawn from Saturday night's Group 1 Fanta Bale Super Stayers heats at The Meadows.

A despondent Rob Tyler told the Recorder he was left with no choice but to scratch the daughter of Zulu Zeus to injury.

"I gave her a good hit-out up the straight on Thursday to top her off for Saturday and this morning she can't put her foot on the ground," Tyler lamented.

"I was going down there Saturday night confident that I couldn't have her any better for her first 700. It's been a long wait to get her up to 700 so to have this happen last minute is devastating. She's had x-rays and it looks like she'll be out for around four to six weeks."

Winner at six of her 11 starts, Zipping Truvy had been well supported to take out heat three of Saturday night's Super Stayers, tackling group 1 winner True Detective and Sandown 715 metre track record holder Here's Tears in a mouth-water match up.

"Her last trial was sensational, but an injury has got us again," Tyler added.

"It wasn't an easy call at all ringing (owner) Martin Hallinan to tell him what's happened but he took it in his stride. If there's a better owner going around then him I haven't met them!"
