Zipping Truvy Stuns In Dapto Middle Distance Win

ZIPPING Truvy has made a serious play for Run of the Year with a remarkable middle distance success at Dapto on Thursday night.

ZIPPING Truvy has made a serious play for Run of the Year with a remarkable middle distance victory at Dapto on Thursday night.

In a breathtaking last-to-first success that had to be seen to be believed, Zipping Truvy weaved her way through the field from a seemingly hopeless position before sprouting wings late to down Stanley Road by just under a length in 34.42.

The captivating win made even more exceptional by the fact she gunned down a greyhound the caliber of race favourite Stanley Road.

"I gave her a 450 metre trial at Bathurst on Monday and she went 25.45 with a 10.10 run home … they just don't do that," said trainer Rob Tyler.

"Her ability is freakish and I can't wait to get her up over 700 now. I'd say she'll have one more 600 metre race before stepping up in two weeks time.

"Her run home at Dapto last night was 12.41 … that's just incredible."

Winner at eight of her 20 starts, Zipping Truvy, a sister to Zipping Garth, is expected to make her long awaited return to the staying trip at Wentworth Park early next month.

Capable of running remarkable times, Thursday night's staggering Dapto win all but parceled up October's Run of the Month award for Zipping Truvy.

The performance one to behold.

"They just don't do that … especially at Dapto," Tyler said.

"I'm just hoping now that the next six months lets everyone see what I see at home.

"Before she went to Melbourne earlier in the year she trialled 30.18 at Richmond and I've got no doubt she'd go quicker now.

“If she stays fit and healthy I'm sure she can mix it with anything over the distance. And Thursday night showed we are right on track. She's going as good as she's ever gone.”
