Sprint Star Vamoose Open For Business At Stud

FOR a few generations now, right back to the early 2000's, Noelene Walsh has fostered a now famous damline that just keeps producing racetrack stars, not only for her close friends, but for whoever gets to buy into it.

Tommie's Placard is where it all started, the daughter of Placard-Shy But Sly, producing for Noelene a bitch called Whinging Wrench (by Big Daddy Cool).

She won 20 of her 37 starts and, naturally, went to stud.

One of her daughters, Blue Thunda (by El Grand Senor) started 23 times for 18 wins.

Yep, it's a line that keeps finding racetrack stars.

Blue Thunda, in 2018, whelped a litter by champ Fernando Bale, and along came seven winners of 121 races and $243,000.

Many breeders are reluctant to repeat a mating. Not Noelene. Blue Thunda went back to Fernando Bale, and struck it lucky again with a litter of six and all six have been winners.

Their racetrack tally is 72 wins for $296,000 with a remarkable strike-rate.

And therein lies the history of VAMOOSE, the standout of that repeat Fernando Bale-Blue Thunda litter with 60 starts for 34 wins, 15 placings and stakes of $182,000.

There are few faster greyhounds about as evidenced by his win in last year's The Thunderbolt at Grafton, his second in both the Maitland Cup and Richmond Cannonball and final spot in the inaugural running of The Thunderbolt.

Vamoose has lived right up to his name. The Oxford Dictionary says Vamoose means “depart hurriedly” and that he certainly did for owner-trainer Sue Smith.

Vamoose is at stud at Sires On Ice and is already getting his chance, breeders wanting to tap into his dominant sireline, tap into his dominant damline, tap into his blistering pace, tap into his productive bloodline package.

Sue can take Vamoose anywhere and win. His victories came at The Gardens, Gosford, Wentworth Park, Maitland, Grafton and Richmond. He was successful to 520m, but at his best when allowed to show his blistering pace.

His littermates included Can't Handle It (14 wins, $57,000, 3rd G2 Bulli Gold Cup, finalist G2 Maitland Cup, G2 Richmond Derby), Laurie's Alonso (18 wins, $44,000).

Their dam, Blue Thunda, is also the mother of Blue Bronte (34 wins, $68,000), Kapow (19 wins, $49,000), Lately (19 wins, $42,000) and a bitch called My Sapphire (14 wins, $28,000) from the first Fernando Bale litter that Sue Smith raced and bred with to Bernardo to produce My Hepburn (2nd G1 Paws Of Thunder, 3rd G2 Gosford Cup, G3 Xmas Gift).

My Hepburn is continuing proof this is a damline that keeps on keeping on.

Vamoose's entry to stud brings with it a pedigree allowing him to mate many bloodlines available in this country.

He is bred on the highly proven 2×3 cross of Chloe Allen and Elgrando Gold who are bred along identical lines from the Black Shiraz sireline and with Awesome Assassin in their dams.

Vamoose's dam, Blue Thunda, has produced quality offspring by both Barcia Bale and Magic Sprite and daughters of that pair, naturally, will suit a mating to Vamoose.

The fact Vamoose's full sister has produced a G1 performer (My Hepburn) to Bernardo means his daughters too will suits Vamoose.

Vamoose's other sister, Agnetha, has a litter of quality by Hooked On Scotch that includes Whiskey Cobbler (14 wins, $70,000, finalist Grafton Cup), Johnny Red (22 wins, $61,000, finalist The Thunderbolt) and Patchy Rum (12 wins, $21,000).

It makes daughters of Hooked On Scotch naturals for Vamoose.

This is also the direct damline of Chasing Glory (G2 Tweed Galaxy) by El Galo, Black Warhorse (G3 Nowra Puppy Classic) by Hallucinate and Laurie's Placard by Elite State.

Vamoose's pedigree shows only Kelsos Fusileer as an outcross in his pedigree.

There is no Bombastic Shiraz, no Collision. The Placard cross in Vamoose's direct damline is crying out for a link with Bombastic Shiraz whose dam is bred along identical lines.

This can be picked up in numerous ways, Aston Dee Bee daughters being a perfect start. Daughters of Feral Franky and his brother Good Odds Harada are great options.

Daughters of Aussie Infrared are perfect for Vamoose. That's because it brings in a triple of the Sobbing Sal brothers Brett Lee, Big Daddy Cool and Head Bound (damsire of Aussie Infrared).

Allen bitches should also suit to link the half relations Chloe Allen and Jarvis Bale (found in G1 Melbourne Cup winner Yachi Bale and his littermates Zoha Bale and Ailee Bale).

The El Grand Senor influence in Vamoose's damline has worked to Group level with Banjo Boy, Kinloch  Brae, Keybow, Zipping Garth, SH Avatar, Barcia Bale, Orson Allen … the list is huge.

It means, Vamoose, is a great option for pace, for damline, for the most dominant sireline in the world today … you name it!
