Top Bets For Wentworth Park Friday

HEATS of the Group 1 National Derby and Futurity headline Friday night's 10-race Wentworth Park program.

Some of Australia's best young chasers are set to take their place in the respective group 1 events, with a number of different form lines coming into play for the two age-restricted classics.

FIELDS AND FORM WENTWORTH PARK FRIDAY NIGHT

RACE 2 – NUMBER 4 SUPER ESTRELLA

Trainer David Smith has been in outstanding touch to begin 2021 and expect that winning run to continue here.

Super Estrella has had six Wentworth Park starts and is yet to miss a place, including a slashing last start 10 ¾ 29.76 victory last week.

Well placed against her own age and sex and has the runs on the board despite being just 19-months of age.

RACE 3 – NUMBER 3 ON THE ROCKS

Really surprised she's around the $2.4 mark – to my eye should be $1.8 tops.

If you need that reinforced just go back and relive her two outstanding WPK wins in November/December.

On both occasions recorded elite group 1 sectionals before finding the line in 29.84 and 29.75. Has been targeted to this series and loves Wentworth Park.

Interesting Sarita is her main danger in betting which she safely accounted for here in early December.

RACE 7 – NUMBER 6 SERIOUS OBJECT

Early speed battle here between Casual Glance and our tip Serious Object likely to go a long way to deciding the outcome.

But at around the $4.6 mark happy to go with the better value and tip Serious Object from the astute Jodie Lord kennel.

Won six of eight and comes here with a big reputation. Put a line through his only WPK start where nothing went to plan.

Hugely talented youngster that can give this a massive shake – don't mind the six draw either.

RACE 10 – NUMBER 1 PRESTON LEE

Former Queensland chaser having his second local start with the benefit of the rails draw.

Showed good ability up north and by all reports is going well in readiness for his Derby assignment.

Quoted $5 in early markets which represents fantastic each-way value on his best form and scope for improvement.

Favourite Weblec Jet certainly the one to beat – trialled 29.95 at his first WPK look recently.

Best Value – Race 6 Number 5 Kuro Kismet

Talented Victorian which is fantastic value at $10. Only WPK run finished in a tidy second when not a lot went right and form since heading home has been very good.

Strikes the very talented Music Event in his heat but if the favourite puts a foot wrong look for him to run a big race at terrific each-way odds.
